I like George Clinton and Parlaiment Funkadelic, Mothers Finest, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Average White Band, The Gap Band, Earth Wind and Fire and a few more. Nothing like some good funk to put a wiggle in your walk.

rcastle, i usually agree with you but.. there isn't a bad song on that revolver record! you are obviously a big rage fan. i like you but i don't think i could make it very far in your car with the stereo cranked! this is one of the truely great albums of all time. i am very much looking forward to the new audioslave due out any time now.

this isn't really a "whats your fav. band thread as much as what's popped in the last year. what have those bands done lately cold?
there was alot of very good music out i liked last year too, like the white stripes and jet just for two

None of them have done very much at all. That doesn't mean that the music isn't still cool. I dig some of the new stuff, it's just hard to find it on the radio. Seems like it's either rap, country or whatever that stuff is on 99X and nothing else.

I have a second hand store near here with a ton of vinyl inside. I just buy 'em and listen. There's so much cool stuff that I've never heard before.

I like that Velvet Revolver too. I never heard of them until I saw this thread and a few people said they were good, so I listened. I can appreciate good music, it usually has good musicians making it. I haven't heard good music on the radio since the early '90s so I don't listen to it anymore. I got tired of hearing the formulated corporate puke that kept spewing from my speakers.

I don't care much for audioslave myself, but Velvet Revolver is definitly a good band, not my fav but Its some good stuff.

Man Bull, You saying you do not want to cruise the Bu' with the Kenwood belting out Jim Croche; Bad,Bad Leroy Brown thru 12 year old Pioneer 6X9 4 Ways????? I do listen to a lot of different types of music,except cRAP or Country. Sound Garden was cool,Rage was alright to an extent,just everything they sang about was politically fired it seems and that just does not cut it for me. Some things yes,but every song gets redundant. Audioslave is not as bad as I thought at first,I listened to it a few times since and do not think it is terrible. But still not up there as a top band to me.
