A b-body is a b-body, I googled it and that's what came up first. If the OP wants to look into it more they can. I'm not doing other peoples homework.

The 500 engine was last offered in 1976, the year before the B-bodies were downsized. So it might very well not fit in the later cars.

The big Cad will be a lot of work adapting it to your Caprice, can be done ....but still a lot of work. To ease your budget just stick with a 383 or 406, you'll be surprised just how fast you can go through 5k on a simple engine build and swap.

I have about a 5k budget for now and was hoping to also do intake and exhaust work as well. Any advise, tips or sugestions are more than welcome.
Ive owned 5 caprices, 4 with 305 one with the LT1 350. The LT1 started in 94 in caprice ,roadmaster and fleetwood, the item is REVERSE FLOW COOLING read about it, it allows higher compression with regular gas,its not a common feature, started with corvette.the LT pulls hard to 6000 rpm,the salvage yard have them cheap. be safe
