Get a Harbor Freight 1qt siphon gun. I have two (the oldest one for fiberglass gel coat, primer etc., the newest one for good paint) and as one goes bad I buy another one. Cost is only about $40 and they are as good as the $$$$$ Binks and DeVilbiss ones (it just may be I am not good enough painter to notice the difference!). Great learning tools.

I also have a HVLP free head, 2qt pressure pot unit I use for painting car bodies 'cause I can aim the head any direction without fear of sputtering or dripping. I know the purists like the gravity cup guns but the free head one sure works great for me and I don't worry about running out of paint during a coat or angle I hold the head.

Learn how to do base coat/ clear coat. It is by far the best finish available today. Any quality brand is fine, just follow their label directions and things should go fine.
