I LOVE "muscle cars"!!!

Back when, the BEST "muscle car" was the one driven by some snot-nose that you could bait into a $$$race!

It took a LOT of years before I would do much other than shake my head when passing by a "muscle car". Stock, they ran pathetically for the size of the engine compared to even a decently set up '55 w/a 301. They were, however, decent raw material for building a REAL car.

Nowadays, I enjoy seeing them. It brings back all those fond memories of races won...

My feelings are hurt. Eight posts and no one has mentioned my favorite brand. Even though I race a '64 GTO, for a street muscle car, I would pick a car that I almost bought in 1966. It was a '65 2+2 Catalina with a 376 HP 421 and a 4-speed, yellow with black interior.

This is a tricky question!

One a personal basis, each one of use will pick a favorite brand.

There is also the question of the definition of a muscle car. It started with the midsize cars, such as the Pontiac GTO in '64, the '65 396 Chevelle, '66 Fairlane, Hurst Scrambler, '68 Roadrunner, and others.

Is a ponycar, Cobra, or Corvette truely a muscle car?

Ultimately the public will probably favor the "iconic" Hemi MoPars as the best, and prices prove that. To me it should be a midsize so.....

Maybe not considered a "Muscle Car" but certainly a "Sports Muscle Car", when it comes to handing someone their *** on any track or course, at any time, the Ford AC Cobra smokes them all.
