Best option for horse trailer paint
 

My dad wants me to paint his 2-horse trailer that is currently at my place. I'm going to need to do some blasting and rust patching in a few spots then 2, maybe 3, coats SPI epoxy.

It's currently red, and I'd like to repaint it red with just a cheap, fleet-type single stage. I'm only painting the outside and don't care about a color match to the inside. I'd just get some Nason or Omni but I know you guys might have a favorite cheap fleet paint that would be good for a purpose like this. Unfortunately there's no Wanda dealer close buy or I'd go with that. This is the only pic of the trailer I have right now.

If you have anyone that sells valspar I hear their single stage is good. If you want to spend a little money I would go with a imron, or sherwins sunfire or something like that.

Buy one of those single stage enamels for heavy equipment i painted my gooseneck with that poo colored brown from case and i got to say one coat covers and it was with 1 coat of case primer.

I think I'd use an industrial enamel too.

Tractor Supply has VALSPAR paint,use their primer under it...its a very good implement paint...

New Imron is not the Imron of old. They have succumbed to the enviro nutjobs.

I can't find any of the Valspar stuff on TSC's website. Only "Majic."

Something like this would be tough as nails impact resistant and very forgiving in application

Not anymore. Valspar was discontinued from TSC about 2 months ago. They now sell Majic brand paint which has a soybean oil base. I tried some and it's crap. Worse than rustoleum.

I'd go for some Ace Rust stop. It's alky'd enamel and they can color match it to anything if the std colors won't do. It's decent and is inexpensive
