First time post...I'm new here, be gentle .

I've always wanted to own a 1923 T-Bucket, so just recently bought a fully assembled kit car. Now that I am enjoying my dream, I'm wanting to tweak a few things.

I know very little about mechanic work or altering cars, so I was wondering...what kind of performance chip to put on my engine to maximize power and efficiency? It is a Chevy 350 Vortec V8.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Does the engine have a computer or ECU? If not then a chip won't work...there's nothing there for a chip to re-program.

Good point. Like I said, I'm extremely green with cars. I'm 99% sure there is no computer, so what should I do? Take it to a shop for a manual tune-up?

Thats ok, I'm no brain surgeon when it comes to this stuff, you just have to get educated by reading and asking questions. In your case I would get comfy with a local hot rod club or a KNOWLEGEABLE hot rodder who can help you out. Unfortunately there are people who will take advantage of your lack of knowledge and put the screws to you on parts and service. You said you just bought it...is it running badly or do you just want to get a fresh tune up? If you could post a few pics of the car and engine it would help.
