Best place to sell used car parts

I have an ever-growing pile of used car parts ( sbc heads, intake, rear axle, etc) that I seem to have trouble selling on craigslist and ebay.

Should I just sell them at scrap price, or is there a way to make a little more money off these items (most are cost prohibitive to ship)

If it helps I live in Maine.

Even you guys in outer east Maine have swap meets. Find a decent sized established swap meet. Load up a pickup and get a space.

Some grizzled old guy like me will come along. Put finger prints on everything and offer you some rediculous low price and we deal from there. A bit of fun on a weekend afternoon...

By all means take it to a show. Take a friend so you can shop and one guy can guard the treasure. It's a lot of fun., You might even find some treasure. One of my first shows was Iola, Wisconsin, about 20 years ago. A guy pulls next me with an empty pickup truck ,he had a small card table and a rubber tire ashtray on top. He also had a hand truck. That was it. He says watch my stuff! He takes off with a hand truck comes back with about five boxes are front end parts. 10 min. later, an older guy walks up to his table takes the handcart with the parts and off he goes ,he looks at me and says he just made 65 bucks. This went on for four days. Each day he would get darker, and dirtier because he slept in the truck .Finally, he went across street to a school to get a shower.Go to the show. Have a good time. You never know what you'll find.

Make some new Car Guy friends

Call a few guys that have parts on Craigs list, Talk swap, trade or tell them what you have and they might know some one else wanting your stuff. . go to the local burger joint cruze night talk around. first ask who has parts before you try selling your stuff.

. Sometimes you have to word your ads differently so they come up on searches by buyers and/or on lists... first word in ad should be a keyword... avoid first word being something like 'the' or any word that really doesn't describe what you're selling... my brother told me there was a particular boat trailer for sale on C.L. so I did a search for boat trailers and couldn't find it... finally searched for the singular of boat trailer and it came up... using the plural got me a lot of dealers and other people with more than one trailer to sell... so, make more than one ad for the same item using slightly different wording... I'd be looking your stuff over if you were closer...
