Hmm. B&M doesn't supply junk, are you sure the rebuild was done correctly and that everything was adjusted properly?

I agree, B&M's kits are very good.
Did you do any Pressure tests after rebuild?

this is the first time i ever had 3rd an 4th just drop. Normally my trannys go do to abuse from me. Never had one just instantly burn up. as for the rebuild i completely trust the guy i have do my tranny rebuilds. plus followed the manual word for word. have come to find out from various sites that 3rd and 4th are a problem with these trannys.do to the fact that 3rd and 4th gears are on the same clutches but thanks for the site. will deffinately be looking into that when this tranny gets rebuilt. on a good note i found a good tranny at a junk yard.

700R4/4L60 Rebuild, Shift Kit, Upgrades

TransGo is a Shift Kit/Shift Recalibration Kit business.
Their Part# 700-2&3 Recal Kit is a very good choice.>> http://www.transgo.com/#

TranStar makes good Rebuild Kits>> http://www.transtar1.com/

These are also good for the 700R4 :
http://www.700r4l60e.com/ very complete & custom Kits, talk to Dana.

http://www.ckperformance.com/resourc...R4CATALOG.html Chris also has very complete/custom Kits, Billet HiPer parts and an excellent Shift Recalibration Kit.

http://performabuilt.com/

Reinforced Input Drum, Beast Sun Shell and good 3-4 Clutch pack should be included in any 700R4 build. A Hardened/Heat Treated Input Shaft is a good option but, not biggie for a mild engine.
