Best replacement body panels?

I am about to purchase a cowl hood, and front fenders for my 70 Chevelle SS. I have looked at Goodmark, Year one, and OPG. I was wondering about figment, metal thickness. Thanks

Shawn

I've used Goodmark and Year One panels over the years and I swear that they're the same thing. It used to be that you could get a better price on the Goodmark panels from Summit Racing than you could from Goodmark directly, but things seem to have leveled out. As far as quality goes, I think that most replacement body parts come from China now anyway. The best parts are the ones that come on the cars from the factory.

If it was me, I would look high and low and spend twice what a repop would cost me. I constantly hear horror stories about folks trying to make these hoods fit and the extreme efforts that it takes. Over the years I've seen these hoods sell for less than a repop but not so much anymore, our standards are rising. If the things don't sell, maybe, just maybe the aftermarket will step up and do it right, not have them manufactured by the lowest bidder. I tell my vendors as often as I can that across the board, I don't mind spending good money on quality parts. But a bargain price on garbage just pisses me off.

i never buy new body panels i always go for stock used. new stuff is just garbage. all from the same place. AFAIK.

and i dont believe any replacement is half as good as stock was. as far as sheetmetal goes anyways,
