the best way to channel 1930 ford coupe

hello all ,

i chopped the top on my 30 a 5-window , have a pete and jakes 6" z-ed frame with a 5" i-beam drop axle but now want to channel the body down over the frame 6"

any idea's on the best approach ? i had been thinking about the "C-channel approach, utilizing a section of 4" wide c-channel with the sides, or feet being 6" [the amount i want to drop the body. then weld the channel inside the car, above the frame rails, lift off the body and cut the floor strips under the channel out then drop !

seems straight foreward, and i don't have to worry about anything getting sprung out of wack or funny.

thanks in advance

Russ

The floor isn't perfectly flat and straight on these cars so I'm not sure if the C channel idea will work. I think you're best off bracing the interior good before you do any cutting. Good idea to check door alignment often while welding.
