I have a Harbor Freight blast cabinet and the light in it is almost useless. I mount a light over the viewing window whenever I blast now to help see a bit better but I need a better, more permanent solution. Anybody encountered this problem and solved it? (pics of your set up would be really nice.)

I think a good replacement would be one of those flourescent tube drop lights. They are sealed well and the glass is encased in a polycarbonate tube. You could probably mount it with velcro or some means of zip ties. Might have to drill holes.

Hi Dewey,

I added a 100 watt light bulb with a "clip-on" alligator base to my blast cabinet (Cyclone plastic cheapie) through the right side door and I can see much better now. It came with only one on the left side.

I mounted a mayonaise jar lid to the inside of my cabinet then fastened
a light bulb socket to that. Drill a hole for wires,screw in a 100 watt bulb
then screw on the mayo jar. When the glass gets all frosted just get a new one!

red911 - do you basically just have a bare bulb inside the blasting cabinet?

randywrench - great idea, sounds like it might be the ticket. Could even put in a couple of them.

Yes, because the cabinet came with one on the left, so I put one on the right. I do like randywrench's idea however.
