Then, let's!

Okay, try this out.
Start with a 1970 nova. Gut the living crap out of it and see how light you can make it. Cage it of course. Add you a-typical 454 with Merlin heads, H-beam rods, forged 4340 crank, 12.5 compression pistons, a good solid lifter cam from Comp, a dual four tunnel ram, and super t-10 tranny with a vertical gate shifter, ford 9" rear with 4:33 gears and a detroit locker. Add 110 octane fuel, and brace yourself for low to mid tens. I could go into detail, but that would take far too long. A very similar setup was used on a non-lightened '66 chevelle, and it made 11.06 on it's very first run with a single four barrel holley.

Now build it and let us know how many diapers you need to keep your shorts clean when you race it.

Call Sonny Leonard and spec out the parts for an 932 cid engine w/streetable c.r., camshaft, wet oil pan and induction (k-star's DFI and 4 kits sounds about right).

In race tune it makes 2140 HP @ 8.1K rpm and 1475 ft/lb. torque @ 6.5K rpm. 932 ci w/5.080” bore x 5.750” stroke.

In street trim, it should make fairly good power.

Mortgage the house and go to work.
