Big Block 454 Gen 5 Block To Be Used In '84 Caprice

Hey I want to know would it be ok for me to use a gen 5 big block 454 in my 1984 Chevy Caprice and use a carburetor set up on it? The motor is completely broken down so I have the freedom to change things if I would like to. Also, give me any pointers as to what I need to look out for when converting the motor to carburetor.
