Big Block Chevy into G-body

Hey guys, sorry I know this thread title has probably been used a million times before

but i have a question that I don't think has really been covered. but I'll give a little background first

1980 Pontiac Grand LeMans Safari Station Wagon G-body (very similar to the malibu wagon)

Put a Chevy 496 In it bolted to a turbo 400 trans.

Any way. motor is in, headers in, brake lines run ect ect...

My question is...Does anyone know if I can just get replacement radiator hoses for say maybe a 1980 Monte Carlo with a 305? I'm trying to find a set of hoses that will fit without breaking the bank and buying some custom do it yourself kit... I am an 18 year old kid in high school and this is my project car for the year.

Thank you to everyone for all your help.

Best thing you can do is buy a piece of flexable exhaust tubing to use as a form, bend it to the shape you need and then head to your local autoparts store and start comparing the form to the rack of hoses. Another possibility would be to get the hoses for an earlier Monte Carlo or Malibu that came with a BBC and maybe trim them shorter.

If you haven't been to maliburacing.com then you should check it out. There is a some good information for those cars available on and through that site.

If you are either using the OEM radiator (if it had a Chevy V8) or an aftermarket radiator that has the same hose locations (top driver side, bottom passenger side), and a water neck that points in the same direction (angled between almost straight ahead to 45 towards the drivers side) the hoses for the '80 Malibu (I own one) w/a 305 will work. You will need to trim a couple inches from each end is all.

Another option is to use most any hose that has close to the correct bends as it leaves the radiator and the water pump, and use metal pipe between the bends. This works especially good on the top hose.

Flex hose will work for this, but doesn't flow as good as smooth hose.
