Big block setup for my 57 Chevy
Hi all and thanks for the great resource!
I just purchased a 57 Chevy car (rock stock 210 post that has been sitting in a barn for the last 15 years). I have plans (dreams) of putting a 500 to 550 HP big block engine in it. I know very little about big blocks and what it will take to make this kind of reliable/street-able power. Your expertise and opinions are much appreciated here. Thanks Kevin |

It is a very popular conversion. The BB will go in with very little trouble, especially if you are uing a standrd transmission. An Automatic will requre using the BB side engine mounts which will require weld on mounts and installing a crossmember for the rear trans mount. There is a wealth of resources on the net for the tri 5's. One is Danchuk at
http://www.danchuk.com/ they have just about anything you need for 55 to 57 Chevies. Good luck Vince |
