It was a pretty serrious storm that hit them, they probablly don't have power right now. New Orleans dodged the bullet on this one, whew. I really hope those guys over there are ok, they have taken a really good beating the last couple years. First with Charlie and then Ivan, and now Dennis the Mennis.

Lets us know how ya'll fared.

I'm on the west coast of FL, north of Fort Myers, We did fine. After the direct hit by Charlie last year, Dennis was barely a couple of days of rain and moderate (<40mph) wind. Thanks guys.

It wasn't as bad as predicted. we got 3-4" or something like that. Not enough to cause even minor flooding here.

Mike, do you know if Labelle still has the swamp cabbage festival every year? I used to live there, it's just up the river from Ft. Meyers.

They sure do Larry, it's as popular as ever. Can you imagine the pride welling up in a teenaged girl when she is picked as "Miss Swamp Cabbage" ? LOL!

The best local festival is at Matlacha Pass. The Annual "mullet toss" and festival. You can't beat getting loaded and seeing how far you can toss a dead mullet!

LaBelle used to be a fun place to live. Last I heard they put in a Burger King and a chinese market (wal-mart). They were thinking about getting a police department too!

Hemmie G says it's pretty easy once you master the technique.
