Binks MG1 good gun?

I have a Binks MG1 and spray quite a lot with it. According to Binks it should perform great with all automotive paint, but in the meantime I am wondering if this is really true.

Especially with base and clearcoats I am having my problems. Can it be that this gun does not atomize HS Clear very well?

And does somebody know if there is a big difference between this gun and a Sata 3000 RP or HVLP (BTW, whats the difference?) or an Iwata?

Thanks in advance.

While I am not familiar with that gun, have you tried bumping up the air pressure to around 40 to 50lbs for your HS clear and maybe over reducing it a little?

I had a used one briefly before I dropped it and messed it up for good. Anyway, I found that the M1-G was good for base but I wasn't able to dial it in to spray clear well. I'm an amateur, so I don't know if it was me or the gun.
But with my new Astro EVO and Sharpe Razor, I haven't had any problems.
The Binks was a first generation HVLP gun and I think improvements have been made over the years in other guns.
