Your not going to get the effect you want with any candy whether it's red, blue or black. Candy Brandywine over a gold ground coat looks red in any light at any angle. Your not going to see gold at all. Same with any candy color or any color base. You might want to check out HOK's ice pearls that really pop in the sun but pretty sure they don't have any orange.

yes a black candy over a metallic or pearl base of any color will look like graphite even in the sun. you will probably need to take black basecoat and mix an orange and gold pearl in it. if you want it to look real rich then spray a black base. over the black spray some white ice pearl or one of hok's metallic basecoats (mbc) then mix up some candy to the orange color you want and spray over that. this will make it look black but in the sun it metallic will look orange/gold.

Yeah, this get's $$$$ real quick when your talking about Kandy's,MBC's and Ice Pearls.
mrcleaner6 KNOW'S the HOK line and he can get you pointed in the right direction.

I think you might get what you're looking for by starting with a
black base then add a little gold or orange fine pearl to your clear.
I've done this to some graphics and the pearl only shows up in
the bright light.
