black ppg epoxy primer

hey guys, i own a civic not a hot rod
my question is that, i want to prime my car with a black ppg epoxy primer
is it just like the regular ppg high build primer, because i want my car fully protected, my caar is currently sanded with 400 grit, and i don't want the grey look, black would be cool, does any one know what the part number and name of this product?
thanks

Follow their tech sheet instructions.

Another option would be to use SPI.

If this is a long term look you are thinking about you might think about something else.

The OLD DP was pretty good about doing what you wanted but the new LF stuff does not hold a finish as well. It wil protect the car and hold up OK, but it gets permanent spots and stains easily.

I would not consider it "high build" if you are looking for something will fill properties.

I would see if you could get the SPI epoxy system tinted with black as that stuff is excellent.

I covered my truck with the PPG stuff about 4 years ago. I just wanted a quick coat of something to cover up a disgusting blue. The primer held it's color for about 6 months then began to fade and turn gray. It will look like "Hot Rod" black at first but that's not it's design. Use the real stuff.

Myself and another forum member just spent the last 2 days sanding all that stuff off. The truck should be painted with "Viper Red" in a month or so.
