black smoke porsche

hi everybody,i just bougt a 1986 porsche 944 non turbo four cylinders engine the car as only 65,000km and it as been put away for 12 year .the probleme is when i started the car it is ok but when the engine reache is normal temperature it started to smoke,i notice that some oil is going into the intake ,could it be that the piston ring are stikking or could it be some sensor that are defect,any advice on what i should do or check tank you .i cant wait to ride this car.

non functioning O2 sensor most likely, black smoke means running rich, )2 sensors don't work until there up to temp.

Hi there,

put in an chevy ls1/2/6/7, they sit perfect in there, and is more reliable than the porsche engine.
The corvette motors is also with transaxle, and fit more or less straight in.
If it is to much of a project for you then look here
Renegadehybrids.com they hav some nice kits, a bit pricey but nice. Have a 928 with an warhawk ls engine and it works.

I was just gonna say drop a chevy engine in it jokingly, but i had no idea you seriously could!

it fits perfectly in the engine bay, light weight and strong.

A SBC will fit with a 944 Transaxle also.

sbc will fit, but it is very heavy, and does not suit the 944īs handling. and a good ls1 corvette is a little over 2k.
