black suede help

gonna paint my 57 chevy truck in black suede, what paint or primer will give me the blackest black with a semi gloss clear. and one that will stay consistant through out the truck, Most pictures ive seen look not consistant through out the cars or a mikly type black. if you have any pictures of your cars, it will be of great help. from what i been reading some clears are a little milky than others

The best finish I have been able to get is a catalyzed single stage black, with PPG DX685 flattener added.

The primers don't hold up well, and eventually turn gray and spotty

The mixing ratio for the DX 685 is on the can. I have used the flattener in a "semi-gloss" mix, and found that any spot that gets sprayed a little heavier, such as in corners, and around windows, dries a little glossier, which would be the uneven look you refer to.

Also, one of the reasons it looks milky is because if it has a little gloss, it reflects scattered light, which makes it look lighter.

I got the best result with a "full-flat" mix, which looks darker and more even.

Your choice.
