On my pressure blaster I have the media valved cracked about 1/3 the way open and the air bypass full open.
I had to use black "something else" one time also. The supplier told me he was getting a better price from this other place.. I think it was Black blast or something like that. Anyhow the other brand must not have been screened as well as the true Black beauty stuff. It HAS to be screened before you put it in your blaster. (takes longer to load blaster) I would constantly find bigger chunks of coal slag and even some chunks of rust in there (reclaimed sand I guess?!?).
Long story short I used up what I had and found a supplier that carried black beauty. I've really only had maybe 1 or 2 stop ups in probably close to 20 some bags that i've put through my blaster.
