block identification
what are the stamped numbers on the back right top of block? I have 2 blocks 429/460 ford 1 is 1y115273 and the other is 5y114573. Is this block identification #'s. Please help?

A quick guess would be the partial serial number of the cars/trucks they are out of. I would venture that one is a '71 and one a '75, however they could be an '81 and an '85. The casting #'s and date codes would tell that.
