Blocking 2-3 Accumulator

Jakeshoe mentioned in his TH-350 Tech article that the 2-3 accumulator can be blocked by blocking the hole in the valve body separator plate or by replacing the spring with a dowel. Can the hole in the separator plate just be plugged with a zap from the MIG then filed smooth?

If you can mig the plate without warping it, you are better than me.

I put a 3/8" nut over the piston after removing the spring. Usually the nut, a flat washer (5/16") and then the e-clip.

Leave it as is. Be sure it has a good spring in it, drill the 2nd feed hole to .125" and that's it.
