Here is another thought I have, to see if it is the PCV causing the problem. Cap off the fitting on the carb, and run it at 3000 RPM for at least 15 minutes, if the oil smoke does not start to diminish, it will be the valve seal, or valve guide in #2 cylinder. Particularly the exhaust valve.
Did any of the plugs have oil on them?

none of the plugs had oil on them. They were nice and dry....even the #2 plug as previously posted....
