blower problems

Put my blower on and doesn't want to run under 2000 rpm it seems like there is no idle circuit working. Just using the carb until i get a pair of Stromberg's. Its a edelbrock 1405 carb ran good on a motor before but not sure why it won't idle, checked no vacuum leaks but i noticed the metering rods seem to get sucked down into the body. Doubled up the springs on the rods and it runs a bit but not very well and no slower than 1500 rpm. Any ideas in making my carb work.

It sounds like a classic vacuum leak symptom but admittedly I'm no expert on forced induction.

I have 12" at idle checked all gaskets, cleaned out the carb and its running, reset the fuel pressure to 4.5 and it runs but still has a lop like a power vale lope but the edelbrock doesn't have a power valve.
