body lift

I did a search on body lift and a few other key words, SSOOOO many posts! Does anyone have a link or thougths for a beginner/do-it-your selfer to lift the body off of the frame. Dealing with limited space and a Behemouth of a car (mid 50's 4 door buick).

Have to ask why are you lifting the body for ? And just how much do you want/need to go up ? I have built a few body lifts back years ago but should be the same process. So what info do you need exactly ? Alot depends on just how high you want to lift it shifter linkage/ brake hoses thing's like that anything that will be effected when lifting it up.IMHO

are you trying to take the body off of the frame for repairs?

Your right Matt, he is wanting to lift the body off the frame surely it's for repairs , i went back and re-read the post.

what i would do is
once you have everything unhooked and loose
jack the body up and slide some long (10 foot) 4"x4"s in between and you can set them onto stands
then just roll the frame out

sorry it took me a couple hours to reply, but yes I am starting a restoration/clean up and trying to decide the depth of the entire build. Best scenario would be a complete frame off resto. Short of that, get the whole thing up to just clean up and move on.
