Body removal

I have always just found and removed all the fasteners and when I feel I am ready used my floor jack and some wood blocking to raise the body enough to get the frame out..

Look for e-brake cables and wiring harnesses as these can hang you up..If you miss something you will know very soon if something is still attached..

Use some blocking between the body and the jack so you do not dent in the floor panel..

Raise a bit and block and repeat the process at all four corners till the body is high enough..

Trick is to have enough 2x4 and 4x4 blocking on hand and have some extra jackstands as well..once the body is off it needs to be securely blocked so it does not fall..

Just my way of doing this one..

Cleaning chassis parts

Tip:
use a pressure washer to get the large gunk off..then I use my angle grinder with a wire wheel on all the areas that I can get to..

Save sandblast for the hard to get to spots...saves lots of sand this way..

It's good to see another 53 on the board. Mines a 4 door Customline with a 351M, auto, 9" rear, and rectangular front frame section & 80 Chrysler torsion bar front end. ( pics in gallery)It had the V8 flathead/stick when I got it but it was very tired. I couldn't belive how nice and clean it was on the underside. Your lucky to find a nice frame with all the salt that been put on the roads over the years. What are your plans for it??
