Body Restoration schools?
 

Anyone know where I any good auto body restoration schools are?

Do you mean Autobody repair or the restoration of pre-1970 auto's?

I honestly don't know of any body restoration schools. Autobody tech. is crash repair, they don't teach how to restor a classic, only how to repair sheetmetal and unibody's and frames from a crash. Most people who take these courses just apply the crashed sheet metal reapir to older sheetmetal restoration. Once you learn the basics of sheet metal repair and working you can apply it to anything.

There are very few shops that only do customs and restorations because to stay in business you need to have the income from crash repairs on newer cars.

wytech is a real good school

McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas has an accredited two year college program to learn automobile restoration. This takes a student through every aspect...mechanical, machining, woodworking, preservation of history, etc.

KSGerry hit in on the nail head... We toured that school last summer I would love to attend it -- just to old for another career change but would like to go just for my own knowledge. Had several Pierce Arrows sitting in various stages plus several Model A's and T's. They were building model A fenders from a flat piece of metal...
