body work question

when doing some heavy duty repairs. how do guys protect the back side of a panel/repair ? as in, the back side is sealed off so that paint cannot get to it, and there is bare metal, due to welding/whatnot. just wondering

On all my panels of my truck , I painted herculener on the inside. Makes a very durable finish, just have to scuff up the paint a little bit. However, I would paint the inside of the panel with some cheap rattlecan paint to make sure the bare metal is sealed, then paint the bedliner on top.

Another plus is that it seems to deaden road noise very well, which I did not even expect!!!

Hope this helps,
