bodymount bolt options/suggestions wanted
i'm rebuilding the front inside corners of my 37 chevy coupe (floor, supports, body mounts, rockers, firewall, etc, everything)
i'm looking for options on how to bolt it all back down to the frame, because the captured nut is broke off inside, of course. i will be using a piece of 1"x2" tube for the mounts/floor supports. #1 do i drill all the way through the frame top and bottom and weld a piece of pipe in it to bolt all the way through without collapsing the frame? #2 do i just weld a new nut in there? (not my favorite) #3 make a bracket (welded or bolted horizontally with through pipe) coming off the side of the frame to bolt it to. ( i'm kinda leaning towards doing it this way) #4 ?????? #5 ?????? any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated |
