Hi,

I would like to restore the engine compartment of my '77 Cadillac. I am trying to find out what the blue coating is on some of the bolts found on the rad support and fenders (not engine bolts).

I am told the blue coating denotes a metric bolt but no one seems to know what the coating is.

Not posetive, but its either GM corperate blue or cadillac dark blue. I think its corperate blue, but I'm not 100%. I never had any reason to find out. Although it does mean they are metric.

Hi HK,

You mean the bolts just have paint on them? It looks like a coating because the whole bolt is coated not just the head.

The reason being is I want it correct under the hood.
