bolt question

I originally posted this in the wrong area.

I am starting to bolt together my 66 Impala. I thought I had all the bolts bagged and labeled, but somehow managed to miss a few. I haven't looked at these parts for 7 years, and am having a few troubles. I bought an assembly manual, but it only gives me part numbers, not bolt sizes.

Does anyone know of a cross referance chart or anything to help out with this?

I am looking for something like: 3846202= 5/16" - 18 x 7/8

Any help would really be appreciated. Thank you.

It is possible that a partsman at a GM dealership could still cross those part numbers out for you and tell you the bolt sizes and specs.

I tried that once, and they told me they couldn't do it. I could always try a different dealership I guess.

It just seems like this shouldn't be so hard to find.

I imagine that someone in the Fisher Body operation had a handy bolt and fastener chart that cross references the sizes to the part number... where I work we have that kind of thing for stainless Mil Spec screws, bolts, nuts, washers, etc. It's unlikely that the dealers would have gotten this kind of thing though.

Thank you. I did a quick search using "fisher body" as key words and came across a couple of different types of manuals that might be useful...an "Auto Interchange Systems" book that might having something. Even if it doesn't have a nut and bolts section it looks like it would still be nice to have it around.

If someone would happen to have a chart sitting around or have a book with a bolt chart in it, I would really appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks.
