Booster plunger-How much movement?

I am in the process of installing my Master Power pedal assembly with a 7" booster and corvette style disc/disc master cylinder.
How much should I be able to move the plunger on the booster with the master installed? I took it out if the box and I can only push it in about a 5/8 inch. Is this OK?
Thanks
Mark
