BOP or custom dash into 71 elcamino

The dash is cut up, broken and boring in my 71 elcamino, as is the rest of the car. Also, the speedometer and gas gage don't work all that well. Anyway, I thought some about swapping in a custom or other A body dash to solve the problem. Customs are expensive, though I do like the white face guages; and modern cars all have backlit dashes. BOP parts are harder to come by and probably expensive too, but SS conversions aren't that great and can cost $1k easily.
Its possible an a body dash would fit without too much work?
My odometer stopped and the speedo is a metronome, so I have to do something anyway.
