I need a bit of help identifying a Borg Warner T-10 that a friend gave me today. The build date apparently is 2-13-63. The body is marked T10-1c and has a part number of 3732212. The tail shaft housing is marked T10-7D and has a part number of 3813490. I hope to use this in my El Camino. Thanks for any assistance. 59EC
sounds like you identified it already .

well what the $$$$ is it .
it came out of my uncles 62 vet .

Your El Camino sounds great. Mine has been a daily driver so long that I don't think mine will ever be that good. I am pulling my 454 and turbo 400 out and going back to a 283 with the 4 speed. Also adding air. Already have disc brakes and power steering. Here in Idaho we tend to drive a long distance to get anywhere so the better mileage will be a blessing. The 283 has a Crane cam and three twos but is otherwise stock. I have not figured out how to post pictures yet but will soon.
Good to hear from you, John
John,
I grew up in Blackfoot,
Mom & Sis are in Idaho Falls.
Yep--lot of driving to get anywhere
Rreruption,
I don't really beat mine.
But I do know of several that beat the crap out of 'em in their Chevelles
One guy did an accidental 3-2 shift at the dragstrip (8000rpm+in a 454)
No damage to the trans---but bent a couple of valves.
TKO 500 has a extremely steep 1st gear-----3.27---500ft.lb torque
TKO 600 is a bit taller @ 2.91 (Ithink)--------------600ft.lb torque
Mine has the 3.27 first----and that 1-2 shift is real quick!! :drunk:
