borg warner t-10 or super t-10
I bought a borg warner t-10 and as I was looking up info on the thing I found a site that said all t-10s had cast cases and the supers had aluminum cases. the thing I dont get is the supers were not a stock tranny according to this site and I dont think I have a aftermarket unit, what is the deal with these. Also where are the letter codes on them to indicate gear ratios? at http://www.corral.net/20anngt/trans.htm they have all the codes listed but i have a few letters that could be the code. as far as markings go on this one I found 13-04-066-903 above reverse, E.2.77 Q7 13-04-097-091 above the forward gear selectors and in the case between forward and reverse WF1072 on the opposite side it has 27N228195 5,18,77 130465903 W.G.DIV FPC2 it has 26 splines on the input and 32 on the output. If any one knows what any of this means please give me a hand in figuring this out. thanks in advance.

I have all 3,yes 3 of them.I have the super the aluminum and the richmond road race copy with magnesium housing. The super is a cast iron housing and the regular is aluminum. When i rebuilt mine the parts list was near identical, bearing, gaskets. etc...I know the aluminum ones came in 79 camaros and stuff of that era.The cast ones i would just be guessing(before my time). The magnesiun one i have is a aftermarket one that was in a indy car(very strong and 4sale).The road race ones don't have a speedo.I believe i have also seen richmond make copys of the regular t-10s,easy way to tell is that they say richmond on the housing not borg warner
