Brake bleeders

So we were trying to bleed brakes on '80 Jeep truck and front bleeders had to be taken all the way off in order for fluid to come out. Looked at bleeders and they don't have holes in them. Is this factory defect or they're supposed to be that way?

Never heard of or seen bleeders without holes in them.

The holes are plugged most likely. This is common if the little rubber caps are not replaced after bleeding. I have seen them plugged so bad you need a drill bit to open them up.
