I have just installed a 8" brake booster. Will the travel of the pedal be different than that of a 7" booster? Will 18" of vacuum at idle be good enough?

The travel is the same for most boosters. !8 is plenty of vacumn for a power brake booster. ROY

Thanks Roy. I appreciate the answer. Just serves to re-affirm my installation.

A word of caution --when using a late model booster be sure to use a late master cylinder--cast iron m.c.'s with early boosters--aluminum m.c.'s with late boosters--the rubber caps in booster where the master cyl.seats are different. It will make a almost undetectable vacumn leak with all kinds of weird brake pedal problems. Some Corvette cast iron m.c.'s will work fine but check it out first.
