brake booster

im working on a 88 1500 with a pre 86 350 with a qjet carb it isnt getting the right vacuum off the carb making it to where you have to pump the brakes to get the right pressure how can i get more vacuum to help the brakes

Replace the master cylinder. If you have to pump the brakes, the M/C is bad.

its new that was the first thing i did master cylinder wasnt it not the right amount of vacuum

I would start here How much vacuum, have you read it? Plastic valve that the hose plugs onto on the booster, it is a check valve.
