The dual diaphram has more boost (surface area), thus less pedal effort.

Chevy Sprint, LUV truck, etc came with 7" booster I believe, is there any vehicle that came with a stock dual diaphragm 7" booster or is that just a aftermarket item?

I just found out from another forum that Astro vans apparently use a 8" dual type booster, that's good to know in case my 7" isn't up to the task.

I have a 66 Ford 1/2 ton pickup that has a factory 7" power booster. Also all the Astro vans I've had have hydraulic brake boosters not vac.

Bobby, are all the pickups and Astros you have had use a dual diaphragm type though?

Dual

Dual is always better. If you break a line you only loose the front or rear braking depending on where the break is. Also, remember to rebuild any donor unit and flush the entire system.
