Brake booster

I heard about an electric brake booster that replaces the vacuum booster can anyone tell me anything about these and where I can find them?

Thanks for the help.

Mike

M&M, I'm researching the same possibilities for a blown application and have come up with these sites showing vehicles that have the electric vacuum pump. You can also get them from auto supliers, rebuilt Delco's or a Cardone unit for about $135.00.

Evidently, the Cadillac units have a better diaphragm system not prone to breakage or leakage, but I'm still looking into them.

Good Luck, Larry

Consider a hydraulic system too.

You can also get the whole hydraulic system from late model Caddys and other GMs at the junk yard. A little Auto Zone kit rebuilding and like new.

Hydroboost Vs Vacuum Vs Powermaster

Yes, I Know All About Them. They Are Similiar To The Gn Buicks 12v System. The Electric Pump Pumps Brake Fluid Into An Accumulator, And When The Pedal Is Depressed, Fluid Is Discharged Into The Booster Side. The Ones Advertised Are Being Rebuilt By Former Employees Of Mine. I Prototyped This System For Street Rod Use, And They Stole It Off My Display Table 6 Years Ago. They Purchase Cores And Polish Them. They Are Not New Units As They Advertise.the Systems Came Off Of 91 Jeeps When The Pumps Wore Out. These Systems Are Failure Prone When You Need Electric Wiring To Run Your Brakes, Plus Used Components. Stacey David Tried One, And These Guys Could Not Even Tell Him How To Hook It Up.
