brake line fittings

Hey guy's I need some help that I know you can do..
I'm getting into the running of my brake lines and need to know how to detemine the size of the fittings. I am changing to 3/16" lines for the brakes but the fittings don't fit the rear or front flex lines
I bought the s/s flex lines from inline tube, I know there are special fittings to be had,BUT are the stock 1/4" lines 7/16 fittings or???what..

This should be a no brainer,,
Thanks,,

The 3/16" lines probably require AN fittings. A #3 AN fitting is for 3/16" lines. You will have to get the proper AN adapters to adapt to whatever you need to.

if you are using standard 3/16 line the thread size is 3/8 fine thread. there is adapters available that will adapt it up to 1/4 line fitting which is 7/16. these adapter are available from any auto parts stores. the stainless braided lines on my car is standard thread, but like 302/z28 said they very well could be AN fittings. make sure what you have before you start to plum it up. good luck with your project.

brake lines,

Thanks guys I knew you'd come through, Yeah I'm using standard 3/16 lines.
I thought that the fittings were 7/16 just not sure. I have the AN through frame fittings. I guess now I need to get the adapters, that'll look so bulky, I'm going to chase down the special fittings from Inline tube to keep it clean..

Thanks again guys you'er great help as usual,,

Bob
