Thanks to many people from this site I was able to finish up my rear 4 link suspension on my 87 suzuki samurai race car.
With the suspension finished I have started my breaking system, and need to find calipers and brackets that will fit the vehical. Since its all custom now, having a samurai axle with crown victoria rotors and hubs, I wanted to make my own mounts for the calipers. My question is I dont know if my front end suspension parts are cast steel or cast iron. How can you tell the difference? I was told I can weld to cast steel but not cast iron. Is welding to cast steel going to be strong enough or safe?
