brake pedal hard then soft but hardly any brakes
truck is a 84 k10 blazer motor 6.2 diesel
ok 2 days ago i changed the high pressure line from the powersteering pump to the brake booster and now i have no brake for at least 4 inches and then hardly any brakes to the floor any ideals?

Power brakes working off the power steering pump, the first thing that comes to mind is air in the line. I know that when you bleed the power steering pump you just turn the wheels lock to lock, a few times until the air is out.
