Post brake problem

i just purchased a 65 galaxie that im picking up tomorrow, the previous owner has told me that the car has been sitting for awhile and that the brakes no longer want to stop the car unless your standing on them and youve got room. the pedal feels good, alot of resistance between foot and floor without pumping.would this just be an adjustment, or is it time to replace wheel cylinders and/or master cylinder?

crack a line on one of the wheel cylinders and stand on the brakes ,if it goes to the floor then you probley have a froze cylinder or cylnders.if it doesn't then it's more likely master cylnder.

Cool

Sounds like the booster is bad if this car has power brakes. May be a bad vacume line but you will have to get into it to find out.

thanks, but it wasnt as bad as the owner let on, it ended up being front drivers wheel cylinder. brakes still responded good except for the pull to the right, but no problems getting the car home or being able to stop it.
