I'm getting ready to go through a complete front end rebuild and brake overhaul and upgrade.
I have a 75 Chevy Pickup thats been lowered 4+3... With the lowered spindles in front, the truck actually corners pretty well... But I'm looking for more. I'm going to do an Energy suspension upgrade to the steering and front suspension. I have found an upgrade on front calipers (the truck has 1.25" wide disks now on the front...) using a dual Howe Caliper... I'm going to update the rotors as well to slotted. Springs in front will be replaced to HD units and I'm going to dual shock each wheel. Replace the factory 1.25" front sway bar and mounts with new unit. I currently run 2 degrees positive caster, 1/2 degree of neg Camber and 1/8th a degree of toe in on the right side... VERY STABLE... Even @ 140. I am considering going to a Dual wilwood Master Cylinder setup with adj. brake bias balance bar. For the rear... Migrating to Baer or Wilwood 1.25" calipers and again the Howe dual piston calipers. I have a DeDion track locator setup ready to go on the rear. Ol Huldy has ~ 500K miles but I've upgraded everything else. I'm running a BRE 383 Stroker, J&M Mercenary 700R4... I can smoke test a Cobra R, F Body, and even an M3 or M5 in a straight line... I need some stick in the corners! Also, I work with a bunch of Bling Bling folks with Mazdoids, Acuroids, and other flavors of Rice who say a pig can't fly. (I nuked the doors off of my Buddies' Gen 3 RX bad enough, he went and bought a dual stage Zex!!!!) Anybody have any thoughts? Looking for ideas BEFORE I spend the dinero!!! Doug... |
