I know this isn't a hot rod question as such so I apologize.
I have a 94 Honda Accord with 4-wheel ABS brakes. The brakes work just fine except when stopped for a long time such as at a traffic light. The pedal will slowly go down which allows the car to creep forward. I've bled the master cylinder, replace it, bled the brake system including the ABS unit. I finally had a mechanic check the system. He, like the book and on-line mechanics, say the problem is the ABS unit. A new or rebuilt one cost more than the car is worth and a used one may have the same problem. Any thoughts or experience in this area?

If you're sure that's the problem and looking for a cheap solution (sounds like it) then just remove it. Complete the brake line connections with brass blocks or run new lines.

I found a new one for around $350..

Or just take out the ABS...Yeah it helps but its not like the chances of getting in an accident are increased that much, i know it sounds sketchy but do what you feel.

I cringe at the thought of anyone suggesting modifying a factory brake system. Yes, it "may" work as suggested but there could be some liability involved if an accident ever does happen. Fix it right or park it!!!!
Don't suggest any repairs or modifications that will potentially cause harm to anyone. Your suggestion to remove the ABS system is like telling them it's ok to crawl under a car while on a jack. You might get away with it once, a few times or many times but eventually you will pay the price of not doing it right.
