You should be able to use the old brake light switch from the automatic pedal..... When the pedal is in the out position (foot's not on it) the switch is in the open position (lights off), when you press it, it releases a spring loaded plunger and completes the circuit and provides a ground for the lights. To see if it works you can remove it from the bracket and the lights should come on, if they don't ck the fuse, if the fuse is ok, ck for pwr at the brake light socket.
Reverse lights are controlled by a switch coming out of the tranny, depending on how new the tranny.
