Here is a list of mistakes that will result in a pooched flat tappet cam.....please read through several times, then ask questions if you don't understand. Failure to understand everything written here could result in you having to pull the motor, disassemble it, clean it thoroughly to remove all the shrapnel from pooched lobes and lifters, re-purchase of cam and lifters, reassembly of the motor with all new gaskets and then holding your breath that it won't happen again.

BEST PLAN: ROLLER TAPPET CAM AND LIFTERS.

Summit sells a high concentrate ZDDP oil and Valvoline racing oil has it also.
You can get the Valvoline at Napa. Good luck! :D

Techinspector, how's the heat out there? Nice and warm?

Ditto....used Valvoline VR1 after initially breaking engine in with Royal Purple Break in oil and a bottle of Comp Cams additive-along with the normal cam lube of course....

I just went into advance auto parts and got the only kind of break in oil they have. I don't remember the name but i haven't had any problems so far so it worked.

Impressive reviews. I'd never heard of in until now.
